Flag Beach Wingfoil Spot – Corralejo's Iconic Riding Bay

Flag Beach (El Burro) is on the east coast just south of Corralejo town, facing the channel towards Lobos. It is a 5-10 minute drive from the centre, with a sandy track down to the beach, open parking behind the dunes and watersports centres on site. As a long natural beach, there is room to rig and launch even on busy summer days.

The Water & Who It Suits

The bay gives flat-to-choppy water that is open but not heavy. The cross-shore trade wind blows you parallel to the beach, so it is forgiving for improvers and fun for advanced riders. True beginners usually start in the calmer Corralejo lagoon and move here once they can waterstart.

Hazards & Local Tips

  • Low-tide rocks: shallow patches appear on the inside at low tide — ride mid-to-high tide
  • Busy zones: the centre gets crowded in peak summer; launch towards the quieter ends
  • Afternoon power: the wind ramps up after lunch, so size your wing for the build
  • Check the forecast: read the Flag Beach wind page first
